B1 ENGLISH TEST INTEGRATED SKILLS IN ENGLISH (ISE I)

This lesson is designed to improve reading comprehension by introducing students to strategies like skimming, scanning, and detailed reading. Skimming is useful for grasping the main idea of a text quickly, while scanning helps in locating specific information. Detailed reading is necessary when questions require in-depth understanding.

Students will practice with various types of texts, such as articles, letters, and reports, to become familiar with the variety they might encounter in the exam. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the structure of a text, identifying key points, and making inferences.

A significant portion of the lesson will focus on vocabulary building. Students will learn how to deduce the meaning of unfamiliar words using context clues and how to recognize synonyms, antonyms, and paraphrased information, which are common in exam questions.

Additionally, reading practice will include timed exercises to simulate exam conditions, ensuring that students develop both speed and accuracy. By the end of this lesson, students will be more confident in handling reading tasks effectively.
